Organic Yerba Mate contains nearly 200 active chemical compounds, including numerous vitamins and minerals, and 15 amino acids. Yerba Mate contains a lot less caffeine than coffee (about half), and does have xanthine’s, theobromine and theophylline. How to brew yerba mate:

Home Unit Espresso Machine:

Fill portafilter to line with mate from
Oregon Yerba Mate
Pull a 6 oz Shot of Mate
Add steamed milk and/or flavor

French Press:

Put 1/2 cup Mate in a standard 32 oz press
Add hot water
Let steep for 2-3 minutes
Press and pour, then add milk, sugar,
or honey to taste

Coffee Pot:

Use 1/4 cup mate per 12 oz of water
Brew like normal coffee
Add milk, sugar. Or honey to taste
(All coffee pots differ, mate should be
dark enough so you cannot see through it.)

Traditional:

Put 1/2 cup mate in a standard 32 oz press
Add hot water
Let steep for 2-3 minutes
Press and pour, then add milk, sugar,
or honey to taste
